What a year it has been. When we first opened the doors to the Shark Tank, we knew Australia was brimming with innovation, but I don't think any of us were truly prepared for the sheer wave of passion, creativity, and courage that walked down that hallway. We saw brilliant ideas, invested in incredible founders, and most importantly, started a national conversation about what it takes to build something from scratch.
The energy was electric, and it confirmed what I’ve always believed: the entrepreneurial spirit in this country is unstoppable.
That’s why I am so incredibly excited to say, we’re back for Season Two, and the water is warmer than ever.
But this time, things are a little different. The entrepreneurs have seen the show. They’ve watched us, they’ve learned from the successes and failures of those who came before them, and they are coming in more prepared and more ambitious than ever before. The pitches are sharper, the numbers are tighter, and the stakes feel even higher.
And the panel has a new dynamic. We are thrilled to welcome the brilliant Dr. Glen Richards to the tank. Glen’s phenomenal success with Greencross and his deep expertise in scalable business models adds a powerful new perspective to the mix. His presence challenges us all and brings an even greater depth of experience to the table for the entrepreneurs brave enough to face us.
While the tank has a new face, my core philosophy remains unchanged. A clever product might get my attention, but it’s the person—the founder—that captures my investment. I’m still searching for that unmistakable fire: the grit, the resilience, and the deep, unwavering belief in the problem you are solving.
